Chateau Elan's Vineyard Fest promises and afternoon of tasting and toasting during North Atlanta's premier wine festival, which marks its sixth year from 1-5 p.m. Aug. 28.
More than 100 domestic and international wines will be showcased in wine and culinary seminars and grapes will be available for stomping, with music by Legacy of Decency.
Self-guided tours of the winery are offered and the wine market will be open.
Cooking demonstrations will feature chefs at 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Just added to the afternoon of tasting and toasting is a 2:30 p.m. cooking demonstration with Executive Chef Chris Hope of Sperata Restaurant in Buford.
Visitors can take part in the Meet the Winemaker seminar at 2 p.m. Wine experts will offer seminars on the hour from 2-4 p.m.
Georgia wineries will be featured with samples from Sharp Mountain Vineyards in Jasper, Boutier Winery in Danielsville, Georgia Winery in Ringgold, Three Sisters Vineyards and Monteluce Winery in Dahlonega, Meinhardt Vineyards in Statesboro, Habersham Winery in Helen, Horse Creek Winery in Nashville and Crimson and Scarlett Vineyard in Dawsonville.
Wineries from New York, Tennessee, North Carolina and California also will be featured.
Gourmet local food flavors to be sampled will include Georgia-inspired dishes like black-eyed pea and ham salad with sweet Vidalia onion dressing and peach jelly sandwiches with organic peanut butter.
Advanced tickets for Vineyard Fest are $75 each and are inclusive of food, wine and all activities. You must be 21 and present an I.D.
