It's the return of the Beetles. Well, sort of.
The Beetles tribute band The Return will perform Saturday at the Holly Theater in Dahlonega.
This will be the fourth year that the band has performed at the Holly, and it has become quite the annual event, according to Holly Theater executive director Geoffrey Kridel.
"It's always an incredibly fun event with people standing on their feet and singing along like its 1963," Kridel said.
"The Beatles changed the generation, and you could certainly argue that they changed society in some ways," Kridel said. "The Return really brings that same energy to the stage."
"Everything is done in the same style — the hair, the dress, the music. These guys really capture the style of the Beatles," Kridel said.
A user submitted review of the band printed in Creative Loafing Magazine in 2010 noted "There are moments when it's hard to believe you're not watching the Beatles."
The show is always a big hit, usually selling out, according to Kridel.
"We're limited in the number of seats, but there are still tickets available. Right now, we still have about a hundred tickets left," Kridel said.
The show is family friendly, and according to Kridel, the crowd is all over the board in age groups.
Kridel said a family who planned to attend, with the family's 5-year-old daughter being a big Beatles fan, certainly made him laugh.
"I told (the mother) that we had one front row seat left, and she said that would be fine as long as her daughter could sit there. She said she would be sitting 12 rows back, but the daughter just had to be in the front row," Kridel said.
The Return will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Holly Theater. Tickets are $27.50, and can be purchased online or by calling the box office at 706-864-2476.
