On Friday, Chestatee High announced that it has hired Shelby Palmer as its new head softball coach. 

Palmer graduated from Chestatee in 2016, and she has been working with their softball program for the past three seasons, athletics director Matt Stowers said. 

She takes the job previously held by Neil Armstrong for the past five seasons. 

In 2022, the Lady War Eagles finished 10-20.
