Softball: Brenau takes top seed into conference tourament

Brenau wrapped up its regular season as Southern States Athletic Conference co-champions with a two-game sweep of Reinhardt on Sunday.

The NAIA’s 12th-ranked Tigers (39-8, 26-6 SSAC) will share the conference title with Lee University, but will have the No. 1 seed in the SSAC Tournament after taking three of four from Lee in the regular season.

Cassie Lassiter pitched a four-hit shutout in Game 1 to earn the win on the mound for Brenau while hitting two doubles at the plate.

Brenau plays in the SSAC Tournament on Thursday at Shorter College in Rome.
