High school baseball: Flowery Branch throws combined no-hitter in win over Prince Avenue Christian

Jake Beaver, Andrew Armstrong and Mason Compton combined for a no-hitter as Flowery Branch beat Prince Avenue Christian 2-0 on Friday. Falcons (3-0) pitchers had 18 strikeouts. 

At the plate, Kaleb Freeman had a two-run homer for the Falcons. 

CHEROKEE BLUFF 13, EAST JACKSON 2: Dylan Kautz had a pair of triples and went 4 for 4 at the plate with two runs and a pair of RBIs on Friday for the Bears. Bryce England had two doubles and drove in four runs for Cherokee Bluff. 

Kautz threw four innings and allowed six hits. 

Up next, Cherokee Bluff hosts Chestatee at 5:55 p.m. Monday. 

EAST HALL 18, JOHNSON 8: Luke England had four hits, including a sixth-inning double for the Vikings on Friday. East Hall plated 12 runs in the sixth inning. 

Christian McCullough, Alex Brock and TJ Smith also had multiple hits for the Vikings. 

BUFORD 4, LAMBERT 0: Connor Samples struck out seven batters for the Wolves (1-0) on Friday. Buford’s pitchers finished with 16 strikeouts. 

Up next, Buford faces Mill Creek at 5:30 p.m. today.
