White County’s Kaleb Crane rushed for three touchdowns and the Warriors staved off Habersham Central’s last-minute drive for a 24-21 win Friday in Mount Airy.

White County’s defense sacked Raiders quarterback AJ Curry 11 times in the contest, which pleased White County’s coach Tim Cokely.

“Our guys are really happy with tonight’s win,” said Cokely. “I’m glad they went out and made plays.”

Brett Bardenwerper nailed a 33-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to give the Warriors a 24-14 cushion. Later in the fourth, the Raiders marched down the field too cut the lead to three at 24-21. Habersham Central stopped White County’s fake punt on fourth down to regain possession. White County’s defense forced Habersham to a third and 50 situation, but Curry completed a 45-yard pass to put the Raiders in a more manageable fourth and 5. Habersham Central converted on the next play before time expired.

Bailey Anderson finished the night with 75 yards on the ground for White County.

White County (3-0) hosts Rabun County at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Cleveland.
