The 17th annual Chicopee Woods Championship teed off Saturday morning for 75 local golfers. Normal temperatures subsided making conditions favorable.

Some competitors were extra hot though, including Terry Rush as he fired a 5-under 67 with one eagle, three birdies and no bogeys. Behind him are Will Peeples, who carded a 69, Matt Bickley, who shot a 70, and Mark Montgomery and Steve Hooper each with 71s.

Dan Arthurs leads the 1st Blue flight with a net score of 68. Phillip Gailey tops the 2nd Blue flight with a net 71. Bob Arendt has a one-shot lead in the 1st White flight with a net score of 67. Sharing the lead in the 2nd White flight are Dave Jetter and Ronnie Crowe.

Gayle Gibson made a hole in one during the event on No. 4 on the School course.

Play resumes at 9 a.m. Sunday for the final round of the tournament.
