The Lanier Running Club’s Erika Rucker finished sixth in the 400 meter with a time of 55.65 seconds in Junior Olympic National Championships on Monday in Greensboro, N.C.

Rucker, a student at Flowery Branch High. advanced to the finals after winning her qualifying heat with a time of 56.8 seconds Friday.

On Wednesday, Ty McCormack, a North Hall student, finished fifth in the 2000-meter steeplechase finals.
