Gwinnett Braves pitcher Todd Redmond struck out seven hitters in eight scoreless innings to lead the Braves 4-1 past the Syracuse Chiefs on Monday in Lawrenceville.
Redmond retired the first 16 batters and worked eight scoreless innings en route to his second win of the season while lowering his ERA to 2.33.
Van Pope drove in two runs for Gwinnett (11-14). Diory Hernandez and Alvin Colina each added an RBI for the Braves.
Gwinnett continues its home series with the Chiefs at 7 tonight.
