Justin Ruggiano hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to give Durham the 4-1 win over Gwinnett on Monday at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, N.C.
The Braves (6-5) are now tied for second place in the International League South division, and are one-and-a-half games back of first place Durham (8-4).
Mike Minor threw six innings for Gwinnett, giving up one run, four hits, a walk and striking out five. Third baseman Shawn Bowman had Gwinnett's first hit of the night, a double off Dirk Hayhurst to centerfield in the top of the sixth. Bowman finished 1-for-4, with an RBI for Gwinnett, which visits Norfolk for a four game series, beginning at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
