Gwinnett's Redmond has strong outing against Tides

Gwinnett Braves pitcher Todd Redmond threw five innings and allowed only one earned run in a 5-2 win against the Norfolk Tides in Norfolk, Va.

Relief pitcher Jairo Ascensio pitched a perfect ninth inning to secure the win for the Triple-A G-Braves.

At the plate, short stop Tyler Pastornicky continued his hot hitting in his first week in Triple-A with three hits and a stolen base. Mauro Gomez had two hits and two runs for Gwinnett (56-44), and Jose Constanza added two hits and a run.

Gwinnett faces Norfolk again at 7:15 tonight in Norfolk, Va.
