Rodrigo Lopez made his Gwinnett Braves debut and pitched six innings, allowing just one run and struck out three in a 2-1 win against the Durham Bulls on Thursday at Coolray Field.

G-Braves first baseman Joe Mather led off the fifth inning with a double to left field.

Mather was soon followed by Mauro Gomez, who doubled to right field allowing Mather to score, tying up the game. Jordan Schafer then singled in Gomez to take the 2-1 lead the G-Braves wouldn't relinquish.

Gwinnett hosts Durham in game two of the four game season-opening series at 7:05 tonight at Coolray Field.

The Braves top organizational prospect and right handed pitcher Julio Teheran makes his Triple-A debut against RHP Dirk Hayhurst of the Bulls.
