The Triple-A Gwinnett Braves split a doubleheader Wednesday against the Columbus Clippers, finishing Tuesday’s rainout with a 7-4 win before falling 3-2 in the second game of the night in Columbus, Ohio. In the opener, which resumed with the teams tied at 1-1 in the top of the fourth, Luis Durango’s two-run single was part of a four-run fourth to take a 5-1 lead on the way to the win.Buddy Carlyle pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief for the win. In the nightcap, Gwinnett (18-8) nearly rallied from an early 3-0 deficit, getting a home run from Stefan Gartrell in the fourth and a run on an error in the seventh to get within one.
