NORFOLK, Va. — The Gwinnett Braves defeated the Norfolk Tides 10-1 on Tuesday night in the opening game of a four-game series at Harbor Park.
Rodrigo Lopez (3-0) pitched seven strong innings, allowing one run on six hits and a walk while striking out four.
With thie win, the G-Braves (7-5) moved into sole possession of second place in the International League South division, two games behind Durham.
All nine hitters reached base for Gwinnett, led by Joe Mather, who was 2-for-5 with a three-run home run.
The G-Braves and Tides play again tonight at 7:15 p.m.
