G-Braves lose 4th straight despite Medlen's solid start

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs came back from a 2-0 deficit with five runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat the Gwinnett Braves 5-2 in Game 3 of the four-game series. The G-Braves are now 2 1/2 games behind Charlotte in the International League South, as Charlotte won its fourth straight game Thursday night. G-Braves starter Kris Medlen worked five scoreless frames and allowed four hits, no walks and struck out four.

Police charge Gwinnett Braves player with rape

ATLANTA — A player for the Gwinnett Braves has been accused of raping a woman while on a trip to Columbus, Ohio. WGCL-TV (http://bit.ly/1KpmXCh) reports Elmer Reyes has been charged with kidnapping and rape in connection with the weekend incident at a Columbus hotel. Reyes is an infielder for the Braves.
