North Hall picks Ryan Hill to be new softball coach

North Hall High athletic director Billy Wells confirmed the recommendation of Ryan Hill to fill the vacant position of head softball coach at the school, according to a Hall County Schools news release Friday.

Hill comes to North Hall after holding the same position at Lanier High the previous four seasons, guiding the Lady Longhorns to the state playoffs in two of those years. Prior to that, Hill was an assistant coach at Apalachee for six years.

“We are excited to have Coach Hill leading the North Hall High School Softball program,” Wells said in the release. “Coach Hill has proven himself to be an experienced leader who promotes character, program development and achievement. We are excited to see coach Hill take ownership of the program and continue our tradition of success.”

Pending school board approval, Hill will take over for Brooke Russell, who stepped down last December to spend more time with her family.
