Jamarco Warren, a Gainesville High graduate and current member of the Charleston Southern University men’s basketball team, moved into ninth place in Big South Conference history for most career points on Jan. 22.
Warren’s 22 points in the Bucs’ 77-69 loss to Asheville were enough to push him to 1,760 points for his career, ninth in BSC history and second in CSU school history.
Warren, a senior, has been an impact scorer since the beginning of his career. He averaged 13.9 points as a freshman, 17.8 as a sophomore, 15.7 as a junior and is averaging 16.8 this season through Jan. 22.
CSU (12-10, 6-4) is guaranteed at least 11 more games this season, 10 in the regular season and one in the league tournament. Should Warren stay on his current pace, he’ll add 185 more points this season, which would put him at 1,943 for his career, good enough for seventh all time in the BSC.
He’s already topped the 300 mark for assists and 3-pointers in his career.
