AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn senior Ty McCormack, a North Hall graduate has been named men’s SEC Runner of the Week, the Southeastern Conference announced on Tuesday.

McCormack earned his third men’s SEC Runner of the Week of the season following his performance at the Panorama
Farms Invitational.

“Ty had a fabulous weekend in Virginia,” head coach Mark Caroll said. “That was probably the best I have seen him run cross country, so he is very deserving for this award.”

McCormack captured individual medalist honors with an SEC-leading 8K time of 23:51.97 in a field that included two top-25 teams and nine teams ranked among the top 15 in their respective region.

The Gainesville native defeated 109 other competitors to record his second win of the season. The Tigers return to action Oct. 10 at the Florida State Invite in Tallahassee, Fla.
