Mekong team wins dragonboat race

The Mekong Dragons, members of the Laotian Dragonboat community, won the title of Lanier Dragonboat Racing Series champions on Saturday at the Olympic venue on Clarks Bridge Road. The Mekong Dragons, which have competed at the venue in the past with the Hong Kong Dragonboat Festival, defeated eight others teams for the title.

Mekong won the 200-meter event with a time of 56.16 seconds. Kipper Tool finished second (58.55), Dragon Our Tails placed third (59.85) and the Marines finished fourth (1:03.2).
