Luna's Tuesday Golf group played at Royal Lakes

The Luna’s Tuesday golf group played this week at Royal Lakes golf course in Flowery Branch.

First place finished in a tie between the team of Stan Davidson Jr., Anthony Barrett, Frank House and Stan Davidson Sr. and the team of Gene Weschler. Steve Hill. Don Smallwood and Johnny Crumley.

Third place went to the team of Richard Strickland, Sam McGee, Norm Nichols and Doug Van.

Closest to the pin winners were Barrett (No. 4), Bud Chandler (No. 8), Randy Gordy (No. 14) and Cleve Brown (No. 16).

The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played its annual two-day team championship tournament Wednesday and Thursday at Chattahoochee Golf Course and Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

First place went to the team of Leroy Harper and Bill Ingram, who shot a net two-day best ball total of 114. Stu Virgin and Don Sorrell finished second with 115. Third place finished in a tie between at 116 between the team of Wayne Nelson and Ed Pledger and the team of Warren Jahn and Johnny Little.

Wednesday’s closest to the pin winners were A.J. Kiker (No. 3), Roy Lyle (No. 5), J.B. Johnston (No. 12) and Wayne Nilson (No. 17). Thursday’s closest to the pin winners were Dick Bachman (Village No. 4, Village No. 7), Al Pannell (Mill No. 2) and Larry Viola (Mill No. 5).

The Wednesday Dogfight golf group played this week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

First place went to the team of Yoko Komoto, Jerry Horton, Mike Tilson and Greg Lee. Second place went to the team of Roger Stapp, Wayne Groebli, Sonny Sykes and Richard Drye.

Komoto also finished first individually. Second place finished in a tie between Stapp, Groebli and Terry Clegg. Fifth place finished in a tie between Lee and Wayne Strickland. Eighth place finished in a tie between Bob Arendt and Bill Jorgenson.
