Flowery Branch resident Rodney Benefield took an early lead and held on to win Saturday’s Pro Late Model race at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton.

It was the first Pro Late Model win for Benefield, who switched to the series from trucks this year.

Sixteen-year-old DJ Vanderley of Mobile, Ala., won the truck series race, and Darin Cronan of Cumming took the win in the Open Wheel Modified race.
