The Gainesville Parks and Recreation Little League 11- and 12-year-old All-Star team is playing for the District 10 Tournament at 10 a.m. Friday at Murphy Chandler Sports Complex in Athens.

The All-Star team (3-0), made up of players from different Gainesville Parks and Recreation teams, remain as the only undefeated team in their district.

The team opened up the tournament Saturday with a 11-1 win against Statham. Sam Carpenter was the winning pitcher.

Gainesville then defeated Oconee County 24-18 in the second round on Sunday. Spencer Ralston and Luke Maddox each homered.

In Tuesday’s semifinals, the All-Star team defeated Walton American 10-0 in four innings. Carpenter homered while picking up his second tournament win.
