Local golfers fare well in AJGA events

Eight local golfers finished in the top five of their divisions in five Atlanta Junior Golf Association events on Monday.

Joshua Foster of Flowery Branch shot a 75 to finish first in the 18-Hole Open Boys 15-18 division at Polo Golf & Country Club in Cumming.

Reeves Bell of Gainesville also competed in the event, shooting an 84 to finish fourth in the 18-Hole Open Boys 13-14 division.

Kason Bloom of Gainesville also won Monday by shooting a 38 in the Nine-Hole Boys 13 and Over division in the Atlanta Nine-Hole Junior Classic at Ansley Golf Club in Atlanta. Carter Cagle, also of Gainesville, carded a 42 to finish fourth.

Anthony Whobrey of Jefferson also competed in Atlanta, shooting a 40 to finish second in the Nine-Hole Boys 12 and Under division.

Joseph Matthews of Gainesville shot a 78 to finish third in the 18-Hole Open Boys 15-18 division at Summit Chase Country Club in Snellville.

Gainesville’s Jackson Bishop and Lawson King each shot an 84 finish third and fourth in the 18-Hole Open Boys 13-14 division at Barnsley Gardens Resort in Adairsville.
