Local golf: White wins first flight at Chattahoochee

The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a low gross, low net event on Tuesday at Chattahoochee Country Club.

In the first flight, Mona White won the low gross with an 88 and Sue Cronmiller won the low net with a 64.

In the second flight, Betty Norton won the low gross with a 97 and Johann Stone won the low net with a 67.

Birdies were scored by Stone (No. 8), White (No. 12, No. 13) and Cronmiller (No. 3).
Closest to the pin winners were Cronmiller (No. 3) and Nora Gleason (No. 17).

Team Emerson wins Luna’s event

The Luna’s Tuesday golf group played this week at Chattahoochee Golf Course.

The team of Rob Emerson, Tommy Lowery, Keith Fitzgerald and Jerry Johns won the event. Second place went to Sam McGee, Joe Campbell, Ken Chahoy and Juan Luna. Third place went to Steve Hill, Larry Miller, Johnny Nix and Grady Smith.

Cloest to the pin winners were Doug Van (No. 3), Grady Smith (No. 5), Luna (No. 12) and Donnie W. Smith (No. 17).

’Hooch men play a two best ball game

The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a two best ball, net points game on Wednesday at Chattahoochee Golf Course.

John Williams, Stu Virgin, Denny Momper and Bill Ingram won the event. Second place went to Bill Brashere, Buzz Hansen, Jack Costello and Mark Costello. Third place went to Carlyle Cox, Milton Martin, Joe Kolesar and Ralph Prescott. Fourth place went to Warren Jahn, Don Graff, Lua Blankenship and Jerry Ermlich. Fifth place ended in a four-way tie.

Closest to the pin winners were Bob Layne (No. 3), Dick Bachman (No. 5), Clay Bartlett (No. 12) and Buzz Hansen (No. 17).
