The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played its monthly individual flighted strokes game at Chattahoochee Golf Course on Wednesday.
First place in the white tee flight went to Gene Weschler, with Bill Sutton placing second. Tim Solyst placed third with Bob Watson finishing in fourth.
In the gold tee first flight, Leroy Harper placed first. Clay Bartlett and Don Sorrell finished in a tie for second, with Don Gage and John Williams tieing for fourth.
Carlyle Cox won the gold tee second flight. Ed Pledger, Jim Carroll and Johnny Litter tied for second, with Gary Palmer placing fifth.
In the gold tee third flight, Bob Smith placed first and Mike Humin second. Dave Long placed third, with Claude Schneider in fourth.
Lee Bowers rounded out the flight in fifth place.
Closest to the pin winners were Solyst (No. 3), Jim Hollobaugh (No. 5), Cox (No. 12) and Palmer (No. 17).
WEDNESDAY DOGFIGHT: The Wednesday Dogfight group played at Chicopee Woods Golf Course this week.
In the team event, Dave Sellers, Roger Stapp and Lou Vega tied the team of Don Davis, Gayle Gibson and Don Schrum with a score of 13-under par for first place. Dave Sellers fired a 68 to win the individual event.
Jerry Horton, Mark Black and Bill Jorgenson each shot a 70 to tied for second. In fifth place, Don Davis, Gayle Gibson, Yoko Komoto and Ted Archer tied with a 71.
Closest to the pin winners were Sonny Sykes, Walt Hope and Gibson.
DPG: The DPG played matches this week at the Chicopee Woods Golf Course. The team of Denis Jordan/Horace Smallwood tied with the team of Billy Corbin/Bob Kidd at two-under par. Jordan took individual honors at +4.
LUNA’S GOLF GROUP: The Luna’s Tuesday golf group played at the Orchard in Clarkesville last week. Bill Newsom, Anthony Barrett, Johnny Nix and Steve Blake placed first overall. Stan Davidson Jr., Jimmy Harritos, Tommy Lowery and Jerry Ward placed second. Steve Hill, Randy Gordy, Don Rogers and Ken Chahoy finished third.
Closest to the pin winners were Gordy (No. 2), Newsom (No. 7), Baker (No. 11) and Blake (No. 13).
