Local golf: Tie for first at Royal Lakes

The Luna’s Tuesday golf group played at Royal Lakes this week.

There was a tie for first place between the teams of Sam McGee, Anthony Barrett, Don Wiliams and Don Rogers and the team of Jones Cottrell, Donnie C. Smith, Terry Clegg and Johnny Dyer.

Third place went to Jerry Foster, Randy Gordy, Jerry Jons and Ken Chahoy.

Closest to the pin winners were Gene Cobb (No. 4), Cottrell (No. 4), Chahoy (No. 14) and Cleve Brown (No. 16)

Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association

A two-man team, match play was held at Chattahoochee Golf Course on Wednesday.

First place honors went to the duo of Jere Cochran and Bill Ingram while second place went to Eddie Johnson and Bob Henderson.

There was a tie for third between the Ron Hopley and John Williams twosome and the team of Denny Momper and Roy Bartlett.

Closest to the pin winners were Marty Anderson (No, 3), Henderson (No. 5), Bob Watson (No. 12) and Ed Pledger (No. 17).

Royal Lakes Men’s Golf Association

On Jan. 26, 15 members of the Royal Lakes MGA teed off and when all was said and done Eri Bohn (+3) captured first place and Robert Kearney (+1) came in second.

Closest to the pin winners were Ron Marler (No. 4), Steve Brannon (No. 8) and Robert Kilgore (No. 14 and No. 16).
