Local golf: Four-way tie for fourth at Chicopee event

Chicopee Woods Golf Course played host to a 27-hole, two-person mixed bag event last Saturday.

First place went to the team of Mark Downing and Scott O’Bryant, who shot a 93.5. Second place went to the team of Walter Hope and Mark Black, with a 94. Third place went to the team of Blake Nix and Tony Tankersley, with a 97.

Four teams finished in fourth place at 98. They included the teams of Bob Arendt and Michael Ward, Jameson Foote and Jim Foote, Brian Coley and Wes Brock and Dustin Baker and Grant Perry.

The group will meet again April 18 in a 27-hole mixed bag event.

Luna’s Tuesday Golf Group

The Luna’s Tuesday Golf Group played this week at Chattahoochee Golf Course.

First place went to the team of Bud Chandler, Randy Gordy, Jerry Johns and Jim Cornett.

Second place went to the team of Rob Emerson, Richard Strickland, Johnny Nix and Stan Davidson Sr.

Third place went to the team of Sam McGee, Larry Miller, Don Smallwood and Johnny Crumley.

Closest to the pin winners were Cleve Brown (No. 12), Nix (No. 3), Chandler (No. 17) and Tom Sexton, who was four feet shy of a hole-in-one on No. 5.
