Local gold: Luna's group plays the Orchard

The Luna’s Tuesay golf group played this week at the Orchard in Clarkesville.

First place went to the team of Stan Davidson Jr., Randy Gordy, Don Smallwood and Richard Kilgore.

Second place went to the team of Michael Gordy, Jimmy Harritos, Johnny Nix and Jim Cornett.

Third place went to the team of Jeff Sanford, Tom Sexton, Cleve Brown and Doug Van.

Closest to the pin winners were Randy Gordy (No. 11), Kilgore (No. 13), Brown (No. 2, No. 17).

The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a match game Wednesday at Chattahoochee Golf Course.

First place went to the team of Doug Van and Roy Lyle.

Second place went to the team of Denny Momper and Johnny Little.

Third place went to the team of J. B. Johnston and Jerry Ermlich.

Fourth place went to the team of Paul Payne and Gary Myers.

Closest to the pin winners were Bug Clegg (No. 3), Dave Gleason (No. 5), Clay Bartlett (No. 12) and Van (No. 17).

The Wednesday Dogfight golf group played this week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

First place went to the team of Tom Bolton, Bob Arendt, Bill Jorgenson and Geoff Archibald.

Second place went to the team of Roger Stapp, Tommy Calhoun, Gayle Gibson and Yoko Komoto.

Gibson finished first individually. Archibald, Arendt, Jerry Horton and Calhoun tied for second.
