Local racing team KipperTool won the first round of the Lanier Dragonboat Racing Series on May 22 by .6 seconds over the Drag Racers team.

The Mekong Dragons placed third and Dragon Boat Atlanta placed fourth.

First United Methodist Church rounded out the top five.

Round two is scheduled for June 26, with the series finale running on July 24.
