Jefferson wins district tournament

The defending state champion Jefferson 14-year old All-Stars won a record setting fourth consecutive District 6 championship last weekend. During this span, the Dragons have not lost a district game. 

During the district tournament, Jefferson outscored the opposition 51-5 in a four-game sweep .

Chandler Thompson, Keenan Lord and Jace McColskey all recorded wins for Jefferson during the tournament.

Satchel Turpin and Tradd Porter both saw relief work on the mound, and catcher Andy Nicolaus threw out six runners trying to steal a base.

At the plate, Lord had a .678 average for the tournament, followed by Eli Griffin (.636), Thompson (.609), Kody McDonald (.600) and Austin Mixon (.556).

The Dragons are coached by Keith Lord.

Jefferson plays host to the state tournament next weekend in Jackson County.
