Gainesville High senior Stephen Mason and Johnson’s Trae Wilson were both named as Hitters of the Year in Region 8-AAA, as announced Tuesday.

Mason hit .456 with 7 HRs and 43 RBIs this season, while Wilson was .433 with 27 RBIs. Gainesville’s David Gonzalez, a University of Georgia signee, was tabbed as Pitcher of the Year. Red Elephants coach Jeremy Kemp was named Coach of the Year.
