West Hall High volleyball coach Joe Nelson will retire at the end of the current school year after coaching in the state since 1995. In his career between North Carolina and Georgia, Nelson won 430 matches, which is second highest among active coaches in the state. In Georgia, his teams made six appearances in the state volleyball tournament, advancing to the Sweet 16 five times.
