The West Hall High volleyball team split a non-region tri-meet with a win against Athens Christian (25-20, 25-17) and a loss against North Oconee (25-16, 25-14) on Tuesday in Watkinsville.

Jessica Hollis had 20 digs for the Lady Spartans (2-8) against North Oconee and 11 digs and two aces against Athens Christian.

Abagail Grindle had eight digs for West Hall against North Oconee and eight digs against Athens Christian. Sadie Cornett had three service aces against Athens Christian.

West Hall plays host to Buford and Jefferson at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Gainesville drops
two at Monroe Area

The Lady Red Elephants remained winless on the season after dropping matches to Monroe Area (25-7, 25-12) and Winder-Barrow (25-19, 25-22) on Tuesday in Monroe.

Taylor Ricketts led Gainesville (0-4) with three assists, five kills, two digs and one block against Monroe Area. She finished with six assists, four kills and one ace against Winder-Barrow.

Kiki Thompson had three assists, three kills and two aces and Katelyn Whelchel had three assists and three kills for Gainesville against the Bulldoggs.

Gainesville visits East Hall at 6 p.m. Thursday.
