Buford defeated West Hall 25-18, 25-18 to secure a bid to the state playoffs before beating East Hall 25-21, 25-15 to take third place in the 5-AAA Area Tournament on Thursday in Buford. Maggie Roper, who was named to the 5-AAA All-Area team, recorded 20 kills and 13 digs for Buford. Tori Payton added 38 assists, and Mikhayla Riegel had 11 digs.
