East Hall quarterback Desmon Gardner scored on a quarterback sneak from the 1-yard line to give the Vikings a 33-26 win in double overtime over Gilmer and their first win of the season on Friday night in Ellijay.

Gardner led the Vikings (1-3) to victory with two touchdown runs (8 and 1 yard). East Hall's quarterback also threw an 80 yard touchdown pass to senior Kiante Young. Gardner finished the game with 250 yards passing. Young had 100 yards receiving.

Young, also a defensive back, scored on a 40 yard fumble return for a touchdown. Chrisel Flores had field goals of 31 and 32 yards for the Vikings.

"For our team to get into overtime and not think something bad was gonna happen is probably the best part about it." East Hall coach Bryan Gray.

East Hall plays host to West Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. next Friday.

"We have a tough one next week," Gray said.
