Chestatee High athletics director Chip Underwood announced that former Lady War Eagles softball coach Devon Thomas will come back to lead the program next season. Thomas takes over for Nikki Keith, who stepped down at the end of the 2009 season.

Thomas returns to Chestatee after coaching the softball program the first four years the school was open. In his career, Thomas has a career 219-82 record and was named the GACA’s Coach of the Year in 1999, 2002 and 2004. During his career as a coach at North Hall and Chestatee, Thomas has four region championships and a pair of region runner-up finishes to his name.

Thomas set school records for wins at North Hall (1999) and Chestatee (2002). For seven seasons, Thomas has also served as head softball coach at Brenau University.
