Gainesville junior quarterback Blake Sims went to the University of Georgia’s Junior Day event on Saturday and came home with an official offer to play for the Bulldogs, says Red Elephants assistant coach Todd Wofford. Sims, who passed for 2,453 yards and rushed for 822 yards in 2008, has picked up some steam on the recruiting trail with big offers from Michigan, West Virginia and Arkansas, to name a few. As recently as Wednesday, Wofford indicated that Sims was high on Michigan’s program, through his communication with the school.

On Thursday, Red Elephants junior wide receiver Tai-ler Jones also picked up an offer from Georgia. Jones, ranked No. 101 among 2010 prospects by Rivals.com, is a four-star prospect with offers from 33 division I schools.
