The Buford High girls soccer team qualified for the state semifinals in Class AA/A for the second consecutive season with a 3-2 win against Brookstone Saturday night in Columbus. Buford visits Lovett in the round of four Wednesday night in Atlanta at a time still to be determined.

Maria Petroni led the Lady Wolves (16-3-1) with two goals and Haley Holderfield also scored against Brookstone. Lady Wolves goalie Rachel Kaplan finished with three saves.

Buford maintained control of the game throughout outshooting the Lady Cougars, 20-9.

"We felt like we were in control of the game all night," Buford coach Marianne Cagle said. "The girls kept the intensity up and played as hard as they have all season."

The Class AA/A semifinals is comprised of Buford, Lovett, Walker and Providence for the second consecutive season.
