Prep scoreboard: Gainesville hits five homers against White County

CLEVELAND — The Gainesville High baseball team hit five home runs in their four-inning 19-4 win against White County on Friday night in Cleveland.

Max Joseph was 3-for-4 with a three-run home run, Sloan Strickland hit a grand slam, Blaine Martin hit a solo home run and Adam Parker was 3-for-4 with two home runs and a double for the Red Elephants (8-4, 7-1 Region 7-AAA).

Joseph also earned the win for the Red Elephants, striking out eight and allowing four hits in a complete-game performance.

Gainesville plays host to West Hall at 5:30 p.m. Monday while White County (6-6, 4-4 Region 7-AAA) visits East Hall at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Flowery Branch 11, Johnson 1

Patrick Henry picked up the win for the Falcons while going 3-for-4 with a home run at the plate in Flowery Branch’s (10-2, 6-2 Region 7-AAA) win against Johnson on Friday night in Oakwood.

Greg Palmer also contributed at the plate for the Falcons, going 3-for-4. Travis Coxworth had two hits.

Flowery Branch plays host to West Forsyth at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Johnson (4-8, 1-7 Region 7-AAA) visits North Hall at 7 p.m. Monday.

West Hall 12, Chestatee 11

Scott Eichler led the Spartans at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs and three RBIs in West Hall’s win against Chestatee on Friday night in Oakwood.

Chan Morris was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and an RBI for the Spartans (4-8, 3-5 Region 7-AAA).
Matt Boone was 1-for-4 with an RBI and Brandon Grindle hit a double with an RBI for West Hall.

Lewis Delgado picked up the win for the Spartans, allowing three hits in 5 1/3 innings pitched.

James Kibbler led the War Eagles (1-7) at the plate with a double. Chestatee scored all of their runs on three hits.

West Hall visits Gainesville at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Chestatee plays host to Gilmer at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

North Hall boys 1, Chestatee 0

Tony Gonzalez scored the lone goal of the game for the Trojans in the second half off an assist from Josh Sims to defeat Chestatee on Friday night in Gainesville.

Daniel Powers recorded his third straight shutout in goal for North Hall (7-3-1, 6-2 Region 7-AAA).

North Hall visits Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Chestatee (5-6, 3-3 Region 7-AAA) plays Winder-Barrow at 4 p.m. today in the consolation game of the Northeast Georgia Mountains Cup.

North Hall girls 5, Chestatee 0

Class AAA’s No. 7-ranked Lady Trojans remained unbeaten on the season with their eighth shutout of the year against Chestatee on Friday night in Gainesville.

Tess Patton led North Hall (9-0-1, 7-0 Region 7-AAA) with two goals and two assists. Bradee Burrell also scored twice while Sarah Carlton had a goal and an assist and Allie Wright had two assists for the Lady Trojans.

North Hall visits East Hall at 2 p.m. today. Chestatee (7-7, 4-2 Region 7-AAA) visits West Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
