The East Hall High softball team earned its first region win of the season with an 8-0 shutout against Johnson on Monday night in Gainesville.
Kayla McDougald picked up the win for the Lady Vikings (3-9, 1-3 Region 7-AAA) with two strikeouts and three hits allowed.
Jennifer Thompson had two hits, two runs, an RBI and two stolen bases for East Hall. Holly Strickland also had two hits, a run, two RBIs and two stolen bases.
East Hall plays host to Gainesville at 5:55 p.m. today. Johnson plays host to White County at 5:55 p.m. today.

North Georgia Christian wins on the road
The Lady Chargers earned a road win against Covenant Academy (25-18, 25-18, 25-16) on Monday in Loganville.
Katherine Dunlap had six kills and three aces for North Georgia Chrisitan. Ashley Goodson added five kills and three aces.
North Georgia Christian plays host to Barrow County Christian at 4:30 p.m. today.
