Prep scoreboard: Bennett leads the way in Red Elephants win

Zach Bennett led Gainesville at the plate and on the mound Monday night at West Forsyth in the Red Elephants’ 14-1 win over the Wolverines in five innings.

The senior pitcher gave up one run on three hits while striking out 11 batters and earning the complete game win. At the plate, he had two hits, three RBIs and two runs scored.

The Red Elephants (6-4, 5-1 Region 7-AAA) took control of the game early, scoring 10 runs through three innings, and managed to score all 14 runs on only seven hits.

Gainesville was also led by Adam Parker, who had two hits and four RBIs.

Gainesville plays host to East Hall at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Forsyth (4-5, 3-3) visits Johnson at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Gilmer 17, Flowery Branch 6
The Bobcats scored all 17 of their runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to get the win Monday night in Ellijay.

Ethan Watkins picked up the win on the mound for Gilmer (9-1, 6-0 Region 7-AAA).

Patrick Henry led the Falcons (8-2, 4-2) going 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs. Cameron Wilson had two hits.

Flowery Branch plays host to Pickens at 5:30 on Wednesday. Gilmer visits North Hall at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Jody Davis Field.

North Hall 7, West Hall 2
Taylor Daniels picked up his first win for North Hall with no walks allowed on Monday night in Oakwood.

A.J. Allison led the Trojans (7-3, 4-2 Region 7-AAA) at the plate with two singles. Josh Haymore had a single and two runs scored and Jake Canipe and K.J. McAllister each had an RBI for the Trojans.

Scott Eichler had two hits to lead the Spartans (3-7, 2-4).

North Hall plays host to Gilmer at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Jody Davis Field. West Hall visits Lumpkin County at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday in Dahlonega.

Lumpkin County 9, White County 6
Chad Fulton went 3-for-5 with three runs scored to lead the Indians to victory Monday night in Cleveland.

Blake Sargent and Quentin Self each went 3-for-4 with one run scored and Parker Jarrard went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run for Lumpkin County (5-4, 3-3 Region 7-AAA).

Sargent had three RBIs on the night and Self added an RBI.

Drew Uptegraph picked up the win for the Indians.

The Warriors (6-4, 4-2) were led at the plate by Travis Rutkiewicz who went 2-for-3 with a double.

White County visits Chestatee at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lumpkin County plays host to West Hall at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday in Dahlonega.

East Hall 14, Chestatee 4
Tracey Gardner went 4-for-4 with three doubles, a triple and three RBIs for the Vikings (4-6, 3-3) on Monday night at the East Hall Park. Jimmy Byers went 2-for-3 with two doubles for East Hall.

Zeb Miller picked up the win for the Vikings with 11 strikeouts over five innings and allowed only two hits.

East Hall visits Gainesville at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Ivey-Watson Field.

Pickens 6, Johnson 2
Devin Mosely and Cody Reeves each had two hits for the Dragons while Clayton Peele had a home run for Pickens (2-8, 2-5 Region 7-AAA).

Ryne Cox was the winning pitcher for the Dragons, giving up two earned runs in 5À innings pitched.

Will Rowlett was the losing pitcher for the Knights (3-7, 0-6 Region 7-AAA).

Johnson plays host to West Forsyth at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Westminster boys down Killian Hills
Nathan Wright picked up the win in No. 1 singles Monday for Westminster with Sam Taylor and Sam Farmer getting the win in No. 1 doubles.

Jeramiah Castleberry and Andrew Farmer won in No. 2 doubles.

On the girls side, Meghan Wuest won in No. 3 singles.
