The North Hall High girls basketball team upset Class AAA’s fifth-ranked Gilmer 55-40 Tuesday night in Gainesville.
The win puts North Hall (11-6, 3-2 Region 7A-AAA) in third place in Region 7A-AAA with six subregion games remaining.
Letiecia Davenport led North Hall with 24 points and 13 rebounds, and Elizabeth Williams added 20 points and nine assists for the Lady Trojans.
"It was a huge win tonight," North Hall coach Debbie Blake said. "The girls came out and played real hard with lots of intensity. I’m just real proud of the ladies’ performance this evening."
North Hall held a 27-15 lead at the intermission which proved to be too much for the Lady Bobcats to overcome.
Sarah Jones led Gilmer (16-3, 4-1 Region 7A-AAA) with 19 points.
North Hall plays host to White County at 7 p.m. Friday.

The North Hall boys kept their perfect subregion record in tact with a victory Tuesday night in Gainesville.
Senior small forward Brannon Nix led the Trojans (13-4, 5-0 Region 7A-AAA) with 12 points.
Senior center Milton Coleman finished with nine points for North Hall, and Andrew Peck added eight.
Kirk Pierce and Andrew Kingsley each scored 12 points for Gilmer (6-12, 1-4 Region 7A-AAA).
North Hall plays host to White County at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Gainesville boys 51, West Forsyth 49 OT
Nick Johnson led Gainesville with 17 points as the Red Elephants squeezed past West Forsyth Tuesday night in Cumming.
Gainesville outscored the Wolverines 8-6 in overtime.
The Red Elephants (9-9, 3-2 Region 7B-AAA) play host to Pickens at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Lakeview Academy girls 43, Providence Christian 33
Junior Brittany Moore led Lakeview with 14 points and Janelle Francis added eight as the Lady Lions defeated Providence on Tuesday night in Gainesville.
Lakeview, which led by two points at the half, outscored Providence 15-10 in the game’s final quarter.
The Lady Lions (7-6) visit Towns County at 7 p.m. Friday.
Lakeview Academy boys 76, Providence Christian 53
Senior guard David Pruett led Lakeview with 30 points as the Lions cruised to a victory Tuesday night in Gainesville.
Lakeview rebounded from a 31-29 halftime deficit, scoring 33 third-quarter points.
Lakeview (11-7) visits Towns County at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Jefferson girls 63, Tallulah Falls 21
Brittney Crews, a senior small forward, led Jefferson with 16 points, while senior point guard Kayla Edwards added 12 for the Lady Dragons on Tuesday in Jefferson.
Jefferson (9-8, 2-2 Region 8N-A) plays host to Commerce at 7 p.m. Friday.

Junior shooting guard Demetri Robinson led Jefferson with 15 points Tuesday night in Jefferson.
Twelve Dragons scored in the victory.

North Hall sweeps meet
The North Hall wrestling team defeated Monroe Area 48-24 and Jackson High 39-33 Tuesday night in Monroe.
In the Trojans’ match with Monroe Area, Kyle Patton (112 pounds), Wesley Adams (119), Cody Wilsdon (125), Zack Agerton (130), Nick Quinn (135), Alex Carnes (140), Scott Freeman (145) and Jason Day (160) each earned victories.
In North Hall’s win against Jackson High, Patton, Agerton, Quinn, Carnes, Day and Beau Dehass (152) earned wins.
