Previewing tonight's Commerce/Gordon Lee playoff game:

When: 7:30 tonight

Where: Chickamauga

Records: Commerce (6-4, No. 3 Region 8-A); Gordon Lee (5-5, No. 2 Region 6-A)

Coaches: Commerce, Steve Savage; Gordon Lee, Kevin McElhaney

Key players: Commerce, QB Reuben Haynes (6-1, 185 Sr.); WR Cohen Cooke (6-1, 185 Sr.); OT Jake Flint (6-3, 250 Sr.).

Outlook: Commerce is no stranger to the postseason. In fact, the Tigers have been in the Class A playoffs eleven consecutive seasons.

Tigers senior quarterback Reuben Haynes is a veteran leader on a roster full of underclassmen. Haynes has rushed for 1,454 yards (8.2 yards per carry) and 25 touchdowns and passed for 1,290 yards and eight touchdowns.

Haynes’ primary target at receiver is Cohen Cooke.

The senior has hauled in 66 passes for 782 yards and three touchdowns.

Commerce’s ability to present different formations on offense has significantly helped them all season long. Look for Commerce coach Steve Savage to keep the football in Haynes’ hands, whether it be in the shotgun, spread or traditional I-formation.

Prediction: COMMERCE. The Tigers have too much playoff experience to fall this early.
