Owen Gifford has been selected as Johnson High School's new head wrestling coach, pending board of education approval.
Gifford previously served as head wrestling coach at Savannah Christian Preparatory High School for two years. His wrestling program qualified the first wrestlers for the district and state tournaments in school history and also developed a youth program. In addition, he was the head soccer coach and was twice named region coach of the year.
Gifford graduated from the University of North Georgia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science: Health and Physical Education. He was an Academic All-Peach Belt Conference athlete.
