Lakeview extends winning streak to 15

The Lakeview Academy baseball team extended its winning streak to 15 games with a four-inning 17-0 win against Prince Avenue Christian on Tuesday in Athens.

Ralston Cash led Class A’s second-ranked Lions (22-1, 15-0 Region 8-A) at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, four runs scored and five RBIs. Ross Biegler was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Tyler Ward added two hits, a double and two RBIs for the Lions.

Taylor Simpson pitched three innings to record the win for Lakeview. Lakeview wraps up regular season play when it plays host to Hebron Christian at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Chestatee 0 (Monday)

The Wolverines clinched a playoff spot with a region win Monday in Cumming. Michael Moch threw his second-no hitter of the year, striking out eight for West Forsyth. Tommy Ferguson led the Wolverines (16-7, 16-6 Region 7-AAA) at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs. Jared Horowitz doubled and had an RBI and Harold Earls scored three runs for West Forsyth.

Chestatee (6-16, 6-16) plays host to Creekview today. West Forsyth wraps up the regular season when it visits Flowery Branch at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
