Lady Spartans drop three at Darlington Invitational

The West Hall Lady Spartans volleyball team went 1-3 on Saturday at the Darlington Invitational.

The Lady Spartans (10-16, 0-3 Area 7-AAA) started the day with a loss to Walton (25-6, 25-13), but rebounded with a win in their next match with Whitefield.

West Hall defeated Whitefield in three games, 25-16, 18-25, 15-7.

After defeating Whitefield, West Hall lost to Dalton (25-22, 25-16), which put the team in the silver bracket of the tournament.

In its first match of the bracket, West Hall lost to No. 1 seed Pace (25-13, 25-20).

The Lady Spartans were led by Abigail Grindle, who had 16 kills, four aces and 27 digs. Erica Grainger had 12 kills, eight assists, three aces and 14 digs, Kristen Holmes had eight kills, and McKenzie Jackson had six kills. Jessica Hollis finished the tournament with 58 digs and four aces.

The Lady Spartans play host to South Forsyth and North Hall on Thursday.
