Flowery Branch senior forward Cassidy Elrod was named the Most Outstanding Player on the 8-AAAA All-Region girls soccer team, the region committee announced Saturday. Lady Falcons defender Alex Lee and goalkeeper Lauren Dunn were also named to the Best IX. The three were part of a Flowery Branch team that won the region for the second consecutive year and posted a 17-2 overall record. Elrod was one of only two unanimous selections on the Best IX. Lady Falcons senior defender Morgan Glenn was named to the Next IX and Cashen Philyaw, Kayla Robles and Megan Kirk were all named honorable mention from Flowery Branch, as was Habersham Central defender Maggie Paradis.
