The Johnson boys basketball team saw an end to their first playoff run in four years on a 35-footer from Riverwood’s Kyle Davidson on Wednesday night.
Davidson’s shot came at the buzzer to lift Riverwood past the Knights 55-52.
“What are you gonna do?” Johnson coach Jeff Steele said of the shot. “It’s tough to take but we lost because we didn’t rebound it well. They pounded us on the glass."
I’m proud of our guys,” he added. “We made it back to the playoffs and brought a lot of positive energy to the community.”
E.J. Wright had 17 points and eight rebounds for Johnson (17-13), which will lose nine seniors off the team.
