Jackson County High junior Mason Garland was one the top 45 ranked softball players in the nation who competed in the All American Games in Akron, Ohio last weekend. Garland was named the Most Outstanding Defensive Player at the end of the weekend. Over 1,000 players nationwide compete to qualify for the games, and Garland began the process at the Southeast Top Prospect Showcase at Mercer University in March, where she was evaluated by some of the top scouts in fastpitch softball.
