Led by Ty McCormack, who finished second in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs, the North Hall boys took eighth-place in Saturday’s 40-team field at the Georgia Challenge, held at Mill Creek High.
McCormack broke the school record in the 1600, finishing at 4:23, and improved his 3200 record with a 9:08.38. Jordan Chaffin also improved his school record in the 200 meter dash, running a 22.94, while Peyton Wilhoite took second place in the discus with a throw of 158 feet, 11 inches, and Ben Booth placed fourth in the pole vault, clearing 12-0
At the same meet, the North Hall girls finished 11th among 41 teams.
